So something that has been keeping me busy, that good news I mentioned, is that I have new pets :D
I got them Saturday. I wanted to post pics and their names, but while I've finally got a couple of decent photos where they're not completely blurred or I only got a pic of an ear/tail (they're quick!) I haven't named them yet. I had a male name or two picked out, but no female names, so of course I have two females. They're mismarked hooded rats, meaning the markings aren't clearly defined and so on (ie not show rats), white with brown and black markings on their heads and upper bodies. One is black and white, the other is brown and white and has some rex in her (true rex have curly fur and whiskers, she has some patches of curly fur on her neck and curly whiskers).
I really wanted the black one who seemed calmer when I held her, but as rats are social and they were the last two, I had both and the brown one has proven to be more inquisitive and to sit on my shoulder while I've been trying to socialise them to be used to me.
Some pics:
