I think everyone on my flist understands creativity, and how important it is to express yourself, your ideas, and your individuality.
But what happens when you lose your creativity? From my experience, it hurts. It's isolating and lonely. It's akin to a spiritual dark night of the soul. The more important your creative expression is to your sense of self, the more it hurts.
Not everyone understands this loss, however. People who are less defined by their creativity often can't seem to grasp how painful, how challenging, how soul-crushing this can be.
I've set up a community called
dryspell. It's designed to be a safe place for anyone suffering from a lack of creativity. You can rant - anonymously, if you wish - about it to those who understand.
You can read more at the
profile page. There's a permanent link to the community in my sidebar so you can find it at a later date. It would be wonderful if you'd consider pimping the comm in your journal and/or relevant communities, or just letting a friend who might benefit from this know about it. Thank you.
