So Photobucket have upset the majority of their userbase by disabling the function most people use it for: hosting images on another website.

"Photobucket defines 3rd-party hosting as the action of embedding an image or photo onto another website," the updated T&Cs read.
"For example, using the tag to embed or display a JPEG image from your Photobucket account on another website such as a forum, Etsy, eBay auction listings, a blog, etc, is definitively 3rd-party hosting."

Some people are reporting having trouble even seeing their images that have been linked elsewhere on the PB site unless they pay to upgrade. I haven't had any issues yet with broken links or seeing the site but this seems to be rolling out so if you have any images at PB not backed up elsewhere you should probably go and download them now if you can (some sites are suggesting workarounds if you can't access the site at all: https://simscave.tumblr.com/post/162523410354/since-many-people-are-likely-currently-grabbing).

I have hundreds of icons there, artwork for fics at LJ and AO3, personal photos I've shared here, etc. I guess I'll lose all those links now :/
I've tried facebook and tumblr but their links update so you can't embed them permenantly. I've occasionally used Pinterest but you're not really supposed to use their image urls. I use Wordpress for my professional blog but that's not going to be replacement storage for everything I have at PB.

I have tried Cloudinary for my recent icons but it's not as user friendly as PB was.
There are a lot of articles suggesting alternatives such as this one with options in the article and the comments: https://www.ghacks.net/2017/07/02/photobucket-alternatives-for-third-party/

Imgur is popular but they already don't like you using their site for third party hosting and could go the same route: Imgur is named as an alternative whenever it comes to image hosting services on the Internet. While you may hotlink to images uploaded to Imgur, the service's Terms of Service forbid you explicitly from doing so. What it allows is to use the embed feature, but this may not work in many cases. vgy.me specifies they allow third party hosting:
Can I use vgy.me to share my images with others?
We encourage you to do just that! The purpose of vgy.me is to allow users to put an image somewhere online so they can hotlink it onto another website, send it as a link in an email or message, or just sharing via instant messenging. However, there are some websites and services that we cannot allow images on vgy.me to be viewed from, such as pirating websites.

http://www.hostingpics.net/ the site is in French but you can use it without registering and/or muddle through the sign up process (inscription)

How many people truly only store their photos at PB as a cloud backup? How many people use the site to buy the overpriced "stick a photo on a mug" function? I'm guessing 90%+ of users store images there so they can use the img url elsewhere. Congrats PB on shooting yourself in both feet.
