I was talking to someone (thank you Snowflake Challenge for the intro!) about the awesome Vala from SG1 and I suddenly realised she has some similarities with Wendy Beauchamp from Witches of East End. Not just some overall physical appearances between Claudia Black and Madchen Amick…

..but also in character. Sassy, mischievous, sexual, occasional thievery, braver and smarter than she's first given credit for…and wouldn't Vala make a great shape-shifter into a black kitty?

I haven't seen Witches of East End yet. Worth a look?

Very much so! It's often compared to "Charmed" but that's only half-true. Instead of three sisters, you have two sisters and their relationship with their mother and their newly-back-on-the-scene aunt. Lots of female relationship stuff, passes the Bechdel Test every episode. All the main characters are witches though this is news to the sisters, who must now learn to use their powers because a shapeshifter is hunting their family.
A US show but with a strong British-Canadian feel due to the cast and scenery, but also some Whedonverse connections. Tom Lenk appears in at least two episodes and Enver Gjokaj has a recurring arc towards the end of the first season. The show has been renewed for a second season :)

Awesome. It sounds like something I could get into. Will have to try it at some point. :)
